De Jonge van Zwijnsbergen is a Brabantine/Dutch noble line whose shield is a golden field crossed by a blue bar wavy—an emblem of heritage and enduring presence in Zeeland and North Brabant. Supporting the shield, a griffin and a lion embody vigilance and courage. Above, a crowned helm issues an arm holding wheat, symbolizing work, blessing, and provision; the coronet references the historic title of jonkheer.
Symbolism. Griffin — strength with wisdom; Lion — courage and leadership; Wheat — provision through labor; Bar wavy — enduring presence in Zeeland; Crown — ennobled rank and responsibility.
2025 additions. A torch (truth), a sword (courage), and three crosses (the Holy Trinity and the Orthodox faith) connect heritage to present calling. The motto remains: Defensio Indefensorum — “Defending the Defenseless.”
Illustrious Brotherhood of Our Blessed Lady. Nineteenth‑century registers show De Jonge membership in the Illustrious Brotherhood of Our Blessed Lady in ’s‑Hertogenbosch. That continuity—defending the honor of the Mother of God—finds modern footing in Legacy Icons, where historical accuracy and first‑hand witness remain the rule.
